ICE HOCKEY

THE Island’s two recreational ice hockey teams, the Solent Hawks and Solent Vikings, did battle last weekend in their first EIHA-affiliated match at Ryde Arena.

The game was very tight throughout, and ended with the Vikings winning 7-6.

Goals for the Hawks were scored by Ryan Attrill, two, James Eklund, two, Ryan Smith-Matthews, and Luke Bontoft, while for the Vikings, Peter Scovell was a hat-trick hero, with Paul Hart adding two, and Adie Lusted, and Jakey Jarrold adding to the tally.
