BUOYED by recent good results, IW Thunder were brought back down to earth in this crunch clash.

Lee Valley, who were second going into the match took an early 2-0 lead, while Thunder had a goal disallowed.

And 15 seconds into the second session, Lee Valley made it 3-0. The third period was all about who wanted the game most. Thunder began brightly but Lee Valley pounced on the counter attack scoring twice to give the side a 5-1 lead with eight minutes left.

Thunder were rewarded with the last goal as a consolation.

Aidan Doughty scored Thunder’s two goals, with assists going to Ben Thomas-Hart and Archie Bicknell.

Daniel Bennett was man of the match.
