Tigers shutout in final match

Friday, March 26, 2010

ICE HOCKEYChelmsford Warriors 6, Wightlink Tigers 0

TIGERS were shut out in the final game of the season, away to Chelmsford Warriors.

The first period started at a tremendous pace and, despite out-shooting the Tigers two to one, Aaron Knight in between the pipes for the Tigers kept Chelmsford out.

The second period saw continued pressure as both teams looked for the first goal, which came courtesy of Chelmsford. Tigers were dealt a blow when Knight, the team’s only netminder on the day, took a shot to the collarbone which left him in some discomfort for the remainder.

Warriors hit three more in the period, while Tigers had two shots hit the post.

The third period was very much a repeat of the second as Warriors scored three more.

Tigers would like to thank Wightlink, and in particular Kerry Jackson and Dawn Paterson, for their sponsorship this season, and all their supporters.
