Matt Colclough.
WIGHTLINK Raiders announced the return of top goaltender Matt Colclough today (Friday).
In a surprise move, Colclough, 22, has decided to re-sign for the English National League side from English Premier League outfit Basingstoke Bison, where he was first-choice goalkeeper and had a staggering save percentage of 90.8 per cent from 54 games.
Colclough burst onto the scene for the Raiders in the 2010-11 season, helping to steer the club to its first league title in 14 years.
Player-coach Jeremy Cornish said: "This signing will send a thunderbolt through the rest of the league. Matt was arguably the best netminder in the league last year and I am thrilled he has agreed to come back and play for the team again.
"This will be hugely popular signing with the fans and is a clear indication that we mean business this year."
