17.49 - FOOTBALL: And the final whistle blows on an extraordinary game, and an extraordinary games. The IW takes gold in the final event of the week, winning the football 4-2, and what a way to end it all. That concludes our coverage of this year's games. Be sure to look online for more pictures from the week and in next week's County Press for another eight-page supplement. Thanks for joining us.

17.43 - FOOTBALL: And its 4-2 to the IW and surely now, the celebrations can start. Iain Seabrook slams home from close range after a Guernsey defender fails to deal with the ball.

17.41 - FOOTBALL: IW almost make it 4-2 but Iain Seabrook's thundering shot goes just wide. Plenty of chances for the hosts, though Guernsey are still threatening. There's been no let up in the pace despite almost 120 minutes of intense play.

17.34 - FOOTBALL: The second half of extra time starts with IW on the attack.

17.30 - FOOTBALL: Two minutes from the break in extra time and Guernsey hit the crossbar. The tension is building.

17.26 - FOOTBALL: Double goal scoring hero Charlie Smeeton limps off injured to a standing ovation from the crowd, who are chanting for the IW. Myles Taylor is on.

17.24 - FOOTBALL: Charlie Smeeton heads home from a yard out after the Guernsey goalkeeper commits himself too far right and its 3-2 to the IW just before the extra time break.

17.20 - FOOTBALL: In extra time the play is attacking on both sides, Guernsey had a gilt edged chance in the sixth minute of the first half but somehow they managed to skew it wide. At the other end there's an IW corner.

17.13 - FOOTBALL: Extra time has just kicked off at St George's Park.

17.07 - FOOTBALL: And we move into extra time as the match ends 2-2.

17.04 - FOOTBALL: The fourth official is indicating there will be three added minutes as the IW take a corner.

17.00 - FOOTBALL: Guernsey equalise through Matthew Loaring with just four minutes remaining of normal time.

16.58 - FOOTBALL: Six minutes remaining plus any stoppage time and it is still 2-1 to the IW.

16.51 -FOOTBALL: Just under 15 minutes to play here as Guernsey make a double substitution to get fresh legs on the field. IW are playing much better football than in the first half.

16.42 - FOOTBALL: It could so easily have been 3-1, with John McKie's low right-hand shot missing the left hand corner by millimetres. The IW look like gold medallists.

16.38 - FOOTBALL: And it's 2-1 to the IW just two minutes later as, while on the attack, Ryan Woodford drives home with a volley 20 yards out. The tables have turned, and it is all IW.

16.36 - FOOTBALL: It's 1-1 as Charlie Smeeton drives low into the left hand corner at St George's Park, with just under 30 minutes left. Game on.

16.27 - CYCLING: We've just spoken to cycling co-ordinator Russell Page, who tells us that, unfortunately, the IW ladies cannot win a bronze as there were only three participating teams, and therefore only two medals could be issued.

16.19 - FOOTBALL: The teams kick off for the second half in the football final. The official crowd has been announced at 1,870.

16.03 - FOOTBALL: It's half time at St George's Park and it is still 1-0 to Guernsey. There is work to do.

15.59 - CYCLING: According to the NatWest Island Games results website, the IW were the third team of three taking part in the mountain bike cross country, so in theory, the IW team could receive another bronze, although this hasn't been confirmed.

15.52 - SHOOTING: IW miss out on one more shooting medal by just two marks in the Universal Trench individual men's competition. Adrian Williams finished on 133 points, two behind the bronze and silver medallists, who both scored 135 and had a shootout to decide who would win what.

15.46 - FOOTBALL: IW go oh so close to equalising in the men's final. A neat one-two between Charlie Smeeton and Tom McInnes sees McInnes's shot go just wide. Plenty of hands on heads here.

15.39 - CYCLING: The final event of the cycling programme has been completed. In the men's mountain bike cross country, Sean Williams came 12th, with Tim Wiggins 13th.

15.33 - TABLE TENNIS: George Downing has won silver for the IW in his first NatWest Island Games. He lost 4-1 to Gotland's Nisse Lundberg in the final.

15.30 - FOOTBALL: Guernsey are looking very threatening on the attack but IW are counter attacking well, just failing to get on target.

15.21 - FOOTBALL: Guernsey take a sixth minute lead with a good volley. IW look nervous.

15.16: The IW has hit the 50-medal mark.

15.14 - FOOTBALL: The crowd are singing the IW anthem, Land of Hope and Glory. The first time it's been sung at the games by spectators. At least 2,000 people are watching.

15.10 - GOLF: We have just heard from Martin Goodall, IW team manager, that Brandon Robinson-Thompson has indeed won silver, as has the IW team.

15.09 - FOOTBALL: The IW's starting line-up is Streeter, Sampson, Przepolewski, Cook, Dunford, McKie, Seabrook, Fleming, Smeeton, Bowler, McInnes.

15.05 - GOLF: By our calculations, Brandon Robinson-Thompson is in silver medal position.

14.57 - GOLF: The men's golfers are back although final placing hasn't been determined. Brandon Robinson-Thompson finished on a 73 for an overall score of 278, Chris Reed shot 75 for a total of 291, Goerge Foreman shot 74 for 298, and Darren Masterton shot 74 for 298.

14.53 - FOOTBALL: Kick-off is delayed in the gold medal game between IW and Guernsey by 15 minutes due to a long queue outside St George's Park. There's already a crowd of more than 1,000 through the gates.

14.36 - ATHLETICS: Drama as the IW men's 4 x 400m team are disqualified after an incorrect baton change, whilst the women's 4 x 400m team win a surprise bronze after the Shetland Islands team were disqualified for the same thing.

14.11 - GOLF: IW ladies win team gold, individual medals for Emma Powell who takes silver and Sophie Beardsall who wins bronze.

14.10 - ATHLETICS: IW men come fourth in the final athletics event of the games, 4 x 400m.

14.04 - BADMINTON: Anna Showlan wins gold in the ladies' badminton singles, 21-5, 21-16.

13.53 - ATHLETICS: The IW Ladies came fourth in the 4 x 400m race.

13.39 - GOLF: The first two of the IW ladies' team are back in the Freshwater clubhouse. Sophie Beardsall carded 75, with Sammi Keen carding 77.

13.35 - ATHLETICS: Tom Wade wins gold in the men's 10,000m in an unconfirmed time of 30.53.00, some 200m ahead of the silver medallist from the Isle of Man.

13.28 - CYCLING: Karen Murphy comes eighth in the mountain bike cross country.

13.05 - TABLE TENNIS: George Downing is in the final of the men's table tennis singles competition, after beating Gotland's Jonas Berglund 4-3. He plays Gotland's Nisse Lundberg in the final at 3pm.

13.05 - ATHLETICS: Tom Wade is in the leading pack of four runners in the men's 10,000m final. The men's 4x100m finished fifth.

12.43 - ATHLETICS: IW 4 x 100m men's relay team in photo finish for fourth we believe.

12.32 - ATHLETICS: IW ladies drop the baton on the third change of the 4 x 100m final.

12.28 - ATHLETICS: Currently unconfirmed, but we believe Matt Barton wins the bronze in the triple jump.

12.19 - ATHLETICS: Joe Wade wins silver in the men's 1,500m final.

12.12 - ATHLETICS: Matt Barton needs to jump 14.76m in the next round to get back into silver position in the triple jump.

12.09 - ATHLETICS: Matt Barton is still second with his second-round jump, there's one round left in the men's triple jump. In the ladies' 5,000m Aiya Abe came fourth and Laura Brackley ninth.

11.28 - ATHLETICS: Matt Barton has moved up to second with a jump of 14.67m in the triple jump and Aiya Abe and Laura Brackley are about to start in the ladies 5,000m.

11.12 - ATHLETICS: Matt Barton is lying third in the men's triple jump with 14.01m. Charlie Occomore is also competing for the IW.

10.23 -  BADMINTON: IW win bronze in style in the mixed doubles playoff at Ryde Sports Centre. Anna Showan and Ian Walder defeated Greenland's Ivalo Olsen and Jens Frederick Neilsen 21-15, 21-15. It is the IW's first badminton medal since the last IW Island Games, in 1993.

10.20 - VOLLEYBALL: IW men finish tenth in the men's competition after losing 3-0 to Guernsey in this morning's play-off.

09.14: There are plenty of other sports concluding today. There is a play-off match in the men's basketball for seventh spot between the IW and the Cayman Islands, while IW men and women will be taking part in the mountain bike cross country at Shorwell. There are also IW shooters taking part in the men's Olympic Skeet  at Sainham.

09.12 - BADMINTON AND TABLE TENNIS: We also have guaranteed medals in the ladies' singles badminton, where Anna Showan will win silver or gold in today's final, at 2pm. George Downing, in the men's table tennis singles, has won a bronze by reaching the semi-finals. If he wins today's semi-final, at 11.15am today, he will go on to play for gold at 3pm.
