ISLAND GAMES WITH the NatWest Island Games in Bermuda less than 120 days to go, members of the IW team are busy fundraising to pay for the once-in-a-lifetime trip.

The sailing team, announced last week as George Downer, Harry Blowers, Markus Bettum, Brad McLaughlin and reserve Adam Coventry, are busy planning events, while Emma Powell, from the ladies’ golf team, has organised an auction early next month to raise vital funds.

Powell, who was part of the highly successful IW team of 2011, which won five medals in total, has organised the auction at Osborne Golf Club.

It takes place on April 6, from 7pm. Items up for auction included artwork and photographic pieces by IW artists, along with attraction and travel tickets, photographic shoots and Tiger Woods memorabilia.

Meanwhile, the sailing team have already planned a sponsored beach clean on April 19 from Gurnard to Cowes, as well as a club barbecue at Gurnard Sailing Club.
