Ten-man Raynes Park Vale were left to rue missed chances as they went down in the Combined Counties League at Grand Drive.

Vale made a bright start on a wet, murky afternoon with Emmy Barrs-James and Tim West forcing keeper Lee Stephenson into good saves.

Raynes Park goalie Gary Bridgen made a good save with his feet to keep out Befont's Spencer Collins. But Vale were reduced to 10 men just before half-time when Matthew Grout was sent off for two bookable offences.

Vale's best chance came when West side-footed past the keeper, the ball stopped in the mud and Barrs-James got his foot to the ball first - only for it to spoon over. Bedfont took the lead when Collins' shot sailed into the corner, and they went on to take the points.

Vale face a difficult task on Saturday when they play on the artificial pitch at the Feltham Arena.
