An armed robber raided Roberts Food and Wine Stores in Elstree High Street yesterday afternoon.
Armed with a large knife, a man in a crash helmet came into the store between 4.15pm and 4.30pm and demanded the contents of the till. Staff at the convenience store, which also houses Elstree's sub-post office, handed over the money and pressed the panic button. Several people, including a young child, were in the shop but fortunately no one was hurt.
The man, described as white, about 5ft 10ins tall and wearing tracksuit bottoms and a grey t-shirt, escaped with another suspect in an E-reg blue Ford Sierra.
