THE IW Island Games team enjoyed a magic Monday in Aland, Finland, winning five medals, including two golds in the athletics.
Tom Wade triumphed in the 3,000m steeplechase, while Helen Davis put her back injuries behind her to win the women's javelin by more than five metres.
There was silver in the swimming pool when teenage sensation Mikael Popov smashed his own personal best to come second in the 100m breaststroke, finishing in 1.04.83.
And there was double bronze joy for Emily Young and Faith Norster in the women's long jump and 100m respectively.
At the table tennis, the IW team recovered from double defeat on Sunday to win all four of their remaining group matches against Alderney, Menorca, Saaremaa and Aland to come third behind medal hopes Jersey and Gotland.
In the sailing, Richard Talbot was the best-placed Islander, in fourth after four races in the Laser Radial, while Philippa Harrison won her first round singles' match over Courtney Stafford, of the Cayman Islands.
In the football, both men's and women's teams came back from opening defeats to win their second group matches. The men beat Saaremaa 5-1 with goals from Dave Greening, two, Aleks Prezspolewski, Chris Elliott and Sam Hart, while the girls beat Guernsey 2-0, with goals from Susan Cullen and Kim Masterton.
