THIS year's Island Games in Gotland have been officially opened.
Team Isle of Wight joined 22 other Islands for last night's (Saturday) opening ceremony, with hammer thrower Amy Clarke given the honour of carrying the Isle of Wight flag.
More than 2,400 athletes will compete on the Swedish island for the week-long event, with competition starting today (Sunday).
For the Isle of Wight, eight-time gold medallist Andy Frost will hope to defend his unbeaten hammer title, having won gold at every games since he first took part when it was last held in Gotland in 1999.
Team Isle of Wight's table tennis, ladies' football, men's basketball, men's tennis, shooting and triathlon teams are all in action today (Sunday).
