A GP practice on the Island was affected by the global cyber attack which brought chaos to parts of the NHS in England yesterday (Friday afternoon).
Medina Healthcare which has surgeries in Newport and Wootton Bridge is thought to be the only Island victim of the attack which affected computer systems worldwide.
Meanwhile, the Isle of Wight NHS Trust at St Mary's Hospital has been unaffected by the incident although staff have been told to remain vigilant and be on the look out for malicious emails.
An Isle of Wight NHS Trust spokesman said that staff had been warned through routine communications on Thursday to beware of opening malicious emails.
He said: "As a precaution yesterday (Friday), we again reminded staff not to follows links. A written communication was sent out not to follow malicious emails."
The spokesman said that Medina Healthcare was working to repair its computer system.
