ISLANDERS REUNITEDFrom Carole Lesley Hyatt, (nee Hutchins), 16 Cil Y Graig, DWYRAN, Llanfairpwllgwyngyll, Isle of Anglesey, LL61 6BD, E-mail: carolelesley@googlemail.com Tel: 01248430918:

I CAME over to the Island in February to research family history.

Everyone was so helpful, although we did hit a wall when making enquiries about Fred Hutchins, formerly of 15 Lower Highland Street.

I had never known him — he abandoned us (my mum, sister and me) in the late 40s. I understand from contact with my newly found cousin, David, (who has a brother, Stephen) my father’s second wife, Susan, left for Australia with their three children and later married the taxi driver who took them to their accommodation when they first landed in about 1957/8.

I am now anxious to make contact with my half siblings, two sisters and a brother.

My paternal grandparents, Clifford and Clara Hutchins, once owned The Appley at Appley Rise, which was then a hotel. I am also searching for history on the building and the period of time my grandparents were the proprietors.

It is ultimately my dream to contact my siblings in Australia. Hopefully someone will also be able to come up with more family history I can include in my book.
