I LIVED on the Island until just over eight years ago. I married an American and moved over here to Richmond, Virginia, USA, in 2001.
A few years ago a friend of mine died in a swimming accident in Compton Bay. His name was David Barraclough and he lived at Shanklin.
He was a great graphic artist and did some artwork for a friend in Austin, Texas — illustrations for a children’s book she had written.
Our friend has now found a publisher for the book. I’m hoping someone on the Island will be able to put me in touch with Dave’s parents or sister so I can tell them about the book.
