From Robin Powell, GBPBR race officer, Brading Haven Yacht Club:

SHOULD any of your readers be at a loss as to what to do with their copy of this week’s CP when they have finished reading it, I would like to suggest they consider using it to build a paper boat.

The Great Bembridge Paper Boat Race is being held on Sunday, July 27, as part of the Bembridge Harbour Family Fun Weekend.

Organised by Brading Haven Yacht Club (BHYC), this event is for boats the hulls of which must be made of paper or cardboard and must not exceed 18 inches in length.

Entries will be divided into two classes; one for boats built by people under 15 and the second for boats built by people over 15. Entry fees are £2 for under 15s and £5 for over 15s. Proceeds to the RNLI.

Full details, including rules and entry forms, may be obtained from the BHYC website (www.bhyc.org.uk) the offices of BHYC, Bembridge Sailing Club and Bembridge Lifeboat Shop.
