Chelsea ended their league campaign with an emphatic victory against Derby County at Stamford Bridge writes Derek Osafo.

It was something of a stroll in the park for the home side. In spite of a goalless first half, Vialli's side were always in the driving seat.

Chelsea began the second half positively and chances were plentiful. The visitors, however, had a strong penalty shout turned down in the first half but it could not mask Chelsea's overall dominance.

For all their attacking intent it was an error which presented the Blues with their advantage. A mis-kick from a defender was pounced on by Gianfranco Zola who exacted the fullest punishment.

The home side then stretched their lead when Zola's corner was met by the head of the free-scoring midfielder Gustavo Poyet. Roberto di Matteo then added a third before Tore Andre Flow completed the scoring in the final minute with a nonchalant finish.
