LETTERS From Barbara Spencer, chairman, Pondwell Residents’ Association, Pondwell:
OVER the past few years, our association has been involved in making the grass area at Bullen Cross more attractive.
We have a meadow mat of wildflowers, a flower trough and, with help from the council, the original bus shelter was repaired and painted.
But now BT has dug up a large section to install a box to improve broadband and placed it right at the front, close to the footpath.
The surrounding area is now an eyesore.
It appears to be an example of a telecommunications company which doesn’t communicate with others, for it would appear neither the parish council nor the IW Council was notified of the positioning of the box, otherwise it was obvious it should have been placed at the back of the area, out of sight and where it would not have been a health and safety issue.
Similar eyesores have appeared at Nettlestone Green and at Appley.
