LETTERS From William Tetlow, Newport:
I COMMUTE at present each weekend from Newport to Bristol, via the Red Jet and train from Southampton.
The service used to boast it was an express service capital to capital (Newport to Waterloo) but is now a disgusting shambles.
The Red Jets are full because of the hourly service and the bus to Southampton station is so full the last two weeks so as to potentially compromise our safety.
People probably travelling back to the Island could not get onto the bus at various stops as it was so overcrowded.
How long do we have to endure this complete incompetence regarding the people of the IW’s rights to travel in comfort and safety?
Wightlink and Red Funnel say they have no option but to cut costs.
Well, we people of the IW have had enough and have no option but to appeal to the government for help.
