From Yvette Ripley, Ryde:
Congestion fee for Island urged…for Newport?

This is a step too far, councillors need to head into London to see what congestion really is, I hardly see how Newport can compare with this volume of traffic.
To encourage the use of public transport? Maybe they need to consider the cost of bus fares and something called a return ticket. One-way tickets only. If you are going to a destination, chances are you want to return home.
Clearly these councillors have lived nowhere else apart from the Island. Go and visit a real city, with real congestion. Not to mention visitors to the Island, giving them yet another cost on their already expensive visit.
Here’s an idea to save money councillors, let’s get rid of some pointless idea makers…a 'councillor’.
