I AM a history student at university in the United States working on a research project on British country houses during the Second World War.
I am interested in learning about the experiences of people who lived, worked and were stationed in Britain’s stately homes during the war.
I am also interested in learning how country houses adapted to their new roles as schools, hospitals, and homes for evacuees and military centers.
I am looking for information on East Cowes Castle during the war and for any one who has memories of East Cowes Castle. Pictures would be appreciated and will be returned.
