COUNCILLOR Peter Forrest, leader of the opposition Tory group in Haringey and runner-up in the Greater London Authority elections on Thursday, said:
'Labour's vote collapsed and their activists stayed at home.
'My supporters worked their socks off and we came within an ace of pulling off a major upset.
'Labour's five MPs in Enfield and Haringey are now sitting ducks.
'Meanwhile, the Liberal Democrats were confirmed as a significant group.'
