THANK goodness my husband and I are not the only ones who think this Island is in need of a bridge (CP, letters 27-04-12).
My husband said what better than to have a hydro-dam, with a road running across the top, spoiling no views.
When will the people on this Island wake up to the fact we are being held to ransom by the ferries? My daughter and son-in-law, who live in Spain, were visiting on the mainland and found they had a few hours to spare. They thought they would pop over but were told it would cost £84. Needless to say they didn’t come.
A few years back someone said they could put a tunnel under The Solent, within months rather than years.
What did the few say? They didn’t want to lose their island status.
For goodness sake when will this Island stop living in the past and look to the future?
