From Derek Moore, Binstead:
Last Friday saw the Island severely blanketed by thick freezing fog which was particularly dense in places with visibility well down to less than 100 metres.
I had reason to drive into Ryde from Binstead and then onto East Cowes and dear oh dear I could not believe at the number of vehicles being driven with no lights on.
They were appearing and disappearing in and out of a thick white bank of fog and some drivers were even wearing sun glasses! Beggars belief at the lack of initiative these people have!
They obviously have long forgotten the Highway code which reminds drivers to use dipped headlights in poor visibility and that includes Foggy conditions. Its common sense anyway.
