COOKHAM Arts Group have an exhibition at Bourne End Garden Centre until Sunday, March 17. Open daily from 8.30am to 6pm (4pm on Sunday) it has pictures by local artists which can be bought and taken away.

GOOD ecumenical relations exist between the churches at Cookham. Every so often joint services are held in Holy Trinity Church, Cookham Dean Parish Church, Saint Elizabeth's at Cookham Rise and Cookham Rise Methodist Church. There is a special ecumenical social event in Cookham Dean Village Hall on Saturday, March 23. This is an invitation from St Elizabeth's Catholic Church to enjoy a meal at 7.30pm followed by entertainment from the Fabulous Shirtlifters. Tickets are £10 each and wine will be available.

Another ecumenical event takes place on Saturday at 9.30am when there will be a Julian Meeting of prayer in Cookham Dean Parish Church. Anybody is welcome to join in this quiet event.

The parochial church council of Cookham Dean Parish Church takes place in the vestry next Tuesday at 8pm.

The Cookham Dean WI has its next meeting on Thursday and this will be the AGM.

The annual parochial meeting of Cookham Dean Parish Church will be after evensong on Palm Sunday and all those whose names have been entered on the new church electoral roll are entitled to attend.

DAVID Mercer has worked as a general practitioner in Cookham for the past 33 years, based at the Cookham Medical Centre. There will be an open afternoon at the centre on Saturday, March 23 from noon until 5pm when patients can bid farewell to this popular doctor who is now retiring. You can sign Dr Mercer's retirement book and refreshments will be provided. You can also meet Dr Joseph Santos who is joining the practice on April 1.

SUNDAY School will benefit from a £15 donation given by the fellowship at Cookham Dean Parish Church to help the children enjoy their activities.

ORGAN concert at Cookham Dean Parish Church will be on Thursday, April 25 at 8pm when tickets will be priced at £7.50 and are available now. The international organist Jeremy Filsell will give the concert.

LOCAL supporters of the Thames Valley Hospice have thanked Holy Trinity Church for a gift of £500. Aromatherapy is the subject of a talk on Wednesday by expert Valerie Plummer in a heated barn at Cookham Dean at 2pm. This is in aid of the Thames Valley Hospice and tickets are available priced £7 from Adele Weiner at 01628 483309.

COOKHAM Ladies Group meets next Thursday in the Cookham Parish Centre when Bishop Dominic will talk about God and Animals. The cost to non-members is £1.50.

REVISIONS to the church electoral roll at Holy Trinity Church has begun and will be finished by March 24. The annual parish meeting is on April 14.

SPECIAL workshop on Saturday at Cookham Parish Centre to create posies for Mothering Sunday. The workshop is from 10am to midday and flowers for the posies would be gratefully received along with any offers of help. Ring Jo Weaver at 01628 822678.

COOKHAM Dean Village Club has its annual dinner and cabaret in the village hall next Saturday at 7.30pm. Tickets are £17.50 per person and on sale at Cookham Dean Post Office Stores.
