JAZZ masters Victor Ash and his band will be getting audiences toe-tapping to raise money for an infant school.

Vic,who lives in Chalfont St Giles, has wanted to contribute to a local cause for many years and Chalfont St Giles Infant School and nursery were delighted when he chose them.

The concert will be held on Saturday 9th February at Seer Green's Jubilee Hall, a venue with enough room for everyone to enjoy dancing to the jazz sounds of the 1940s famous tunes like Little Brown Jug, Chattanooga Choo Choo and In the Mood.

"We're very grateful to Vic and his band for holding the concert in aid of the school" said Ali Page, Chair of the Infant School PTA. "It will be a great night out for anyone who enjoys dancing and jiving to jazz."

Vic's career started at the age of 20 when he was asked to join Kenny Baker's band. He later formed his own group and toured the world playing with such stars as Miles Davis, Dave Brubeck, Hoagy Carmichael, Dizzy Gillespie and Mel Torme.

He has appeared at the UCS, Barbican and Festival Hall with his quartet and as guest soloist, and featured solo. with the BBC Big Band.

He is very much associated with Frank Sinatra, having accompanied the singer on all his tours in the UK, Europe and the Middle East since 1970.
