Helped through dreadful crash

LETTERS From Gemma Lawrence, Gunville:

ON October 5, I was involved in a nasty car accident along Victoria Avenue, Shanklin, my car was struck by another.

I was in severe pain due to the impact and the air bags going off and I was pinned into my seat and trapped in the car.

I was very frightened and shaken up and was more horrified that up to seven vehicles mounted the curb to get around the crash site rather then stop and see if everyone was OK.

Luckily for me, a very kind and thoughtful gentleman came to help. This kind person stayed with me until the emergency services arrive.

He was calm and was my rock in my hour of need. Regretfully, I never got his name and couldn’t even tell you what he looked like but I would like to thank him for how he made a horrific situation that little bit more bearable.

I also would like to thank all the emergency services at the scene. They really work so well and hard together to keep us all as safe as possible.

The paramedics also made this nasty experience a better one by being so professional and kind. I can’t thank all of you enough.
