PENSION THEFT: A Northolt post office worker has been charged with the theft of pension books and cash, and with beating up two men.

John Middlemiss, 55, from Dalewood Drive in Hayes is alleged to have committed the crimes between July 1998 and October 1999 at the Post Office on Mandeville Road.

A total of 14 pension and allowance books were stolen, Ealing magistrates heard last week.

He is also charged with beating Neil Shah and Paul Dawkins on October 22 last year at the post office, and has been committed for trial on May 31 at Isleworth Crown Court. He was remanded on bail.
