Give it up

In the build-up to National No Smoking Day the Cancer Research Campaign is holding an ashtray amnesty.

And anyone who hands over an ashtray will be entered into a competition to win tickets to a pop concert on May 23.

You can take your ashtrays to Cancer Research Shops in Twickenham and Richmond.

Father Ted RIP

The funeral of Father Ted actor Dermot Morgan was held in Dublin last Thursday, following a memorial service in his adopted home of St Margarets.

Singer Chris de Burgh was among the faces of the service held at the Roman Catholic Church in St Margarets Road last Wednesday.

His coffin was then flown to Ireland and a funeral held in his home town of Dublin.
