From David Parkinson, Totland Bay:
It’s Saturday afternoon, 5.07pm. There are three staff on the floating bridge, my car and just two foot passengers for the 73-second journey across the Medina.
At a cost of £2.60 for 73 seconds, it beats even the high cost of crossing The Solent.
On top of the operating fiasco, has the Isle of Wight Council finally increased fares to the point where it will prove impossible for the service to make a profit as no-one will use it?
