Yet another survey landed on my doormat today threatening further inroads into my budget in the so-called interests of democracy.
I resent subsidising the European Union so they can tell us, with lots of regulations and forms to fill in, as to how we should run our country.
I cannot see why we need Scottish and Welsh parliaments. I would be happy to see Northern Ireland revert to Ireland.
I voted for a nil increase in council tax, which is to be 7.3 per cent due to the Mayor of London, which I voted against. Now we have further proposed expenditure to run yet more elections.
Where will it all end? Ten per cent next year and then perhaps a Communist system with a street committee of citizens and further increases? I would not like to live in a fascist or people's republic but within a simple system with fewer bureaucrats and politicians and more accountability.
This does not mean lots of committees and delegates who spout lots of hot air, duplicated at various levels without any sense of real measurement of achievement except spending other people's hard-earned income.
