Literary festival was superb

LETTERS From Belinda Wright, London:

CONGRATULATIONS to the committee and organisers of the inaugural IW Literary Festival.

We had a fantastic weekend! Northwood House was a perfect venue for the discussions and talks and the very thoughtful (and delicious) food court made a marvellous social meeting point for all involved. It was lovely to visit Trinity Theatre again for the Female Wits and Gyles Brandreth.

The atmosphere in Cowes was really buzzing and we talked to neighbours who were, like us, dashing from one fascinating and inspiring event to the next… it was like a mini Edinburgh Festival. We also thoroughly enjoyed the Magical Mystery Tour coach trip — full of interesting snippets of information about our diamond isle

Do please let us know, as soon as you can, the dates for next year’s festival so we can ink them in our diaries.

• Another letter on this topic in the Friday, October 19, County Press.
