MP disappointing in his stance on proposed plan

LETTERS From Simon Dean, Cowes:

HOW disappointing to see our MP, Andrew Turner, reduced to acting as pop-up cheerleader for the anti-asphalt plant brigade.

On an issue of this significance, the Island needs an MP to be a mediator not an agitator; someone busy looking for solutions and assurances rather than cheap headlines and inflammatory soundbites.

Better, safer highways and the potential for massive economic investment are issues too important to be reduced to partisan rhetoric and rabble rousing by a man empowered to serve the interests of the whole Island.

Besides, Mr Turner should welcome smoother roads — if only to give him a more comfortable ride on whichever bandwagon he is currently riding.
