LEWISHAM shopping centre was transformed into an open air classroom with a variety of school activities taking place.
Events on the agenda included a maths trail, puzzles, educational games and free face painting.
Visitors to the centre were greeted by Zios the Robot who invited them to play the game, Oware from Ghana who helped them solve the Tower of Hanoi problem by crossing the bridges of Konisberg.
Deputy for lifelong learning Councillor Katy Donnelly, who attended the event, said: "The MathsFest makes learning accessible and fun in a local environment."
The event built upon the successful collaboration of Maths Year 2000 and Lewisham Education Business Partnership and aimed to create a wider appreciation of maths.
