LETTERS From Mrs A. Chiverton, Newport:

HAVING just reached the 21st century due to the gift of a pc, I’m not sure it’s a good place to be in all respects.

I refer to the obscene language, appalling photographs and vile images to be seen on a social network site.

As most children are computer literate from an early age these days, what sort of an example does it set for them? Do we really want them to grow up thinking it’s permissible to post such filth on a website? I think not.

It’s surely time for the powers that be to bring in legislation for the people who man these websites to be far more stringent in their vetting policies, to see just what some individuals are using their network for.

To the "if you don’t like it, don’t look" brigade, one comment, IT SHOULDN’T BE ON THERE.
