Praise for staff over festive period

LETTERS From Beverly Lakey, Niton:

DURING the Christmas break residents have endured power cuts, flooded homes, disrupted water supplies and structural damage to their homes.

I know for a fact many employees, hoping to enjoy a few festive days with their families have bent over backwards to try and rectify these problems — problems, on the whole, caused by freak weather conditions. It would be nice, for a change, to give praise where it is due, stop complaining, and say a big thank you to all those who spent their (holiday) attempting to restore services. A very happy new year to all.
