LETTERS From Chris Everson, East Cowes:
I HEAR a lot of cyclists complaining (often with very good cause) that there are not enough cycle paths on the Island.
Why then, as I drive from East Cowes to Newport, do I have to weave around countless cyclists from the Racecourse, all along Fairlee Road into Newport?
The pavement along one side is designated a cycle lane for most of the way, yet I see very few cyclists actually using this and it’s always been a mystery to me.
I am sure there’s a good explanation, as otherwise it’s quite bizarre.
Perhaps a cyclist would care to enlighten me?
