FRANCS, Deutschemarks and Drachmas may be no more thanks to the introduction of the euro, but old foreign currency is still of value to transport charity Motability.

Schools and businesses in Harlow have been helping collect the unwanted money and donating it to the charity to change it into pounds, but Motability is still looking for more organisations to get involved.

Appeal coordinator Danny Greenwood said: "The response has been fantastic. This type of fundraising is essential to Motability, we cannot raise the amount of funds that we require without the help of the public.

"Grants are a necessity to a lot of people, as adaptations to vehicles, advanced payments for suitable cars and driving lessons, are very costly.

If your school or business would like to get involved, ring Danny Greenwood on 01279 632224.
