To mark thirty years of making beautiful music together Lynne Hirst and Keith Grout will celebrate by performing Mozart and Strauss in Harrow on Saturday night.

The couple from Shaftesbury Avenue, South Harrow, will take to the stage alongside the Trinity Orchestra to provide an evening's music entitled: 'Magic and Romance'.

Mrs Hirst and Mr Grout met in 1970 while studying at the Royal Academy of Music and married soon after graduating.

Both have maintained a passion for classical music, as well as for each other. Mrs Hirst was a member of the BBC singers for ten years and gave her debut solo performance at the 1994 Proms.

At Saturday's concert she will sing solo again while her husband leads the viola section of the orchestra.

'We're both looking forward to the concert, but it's just a coincidence that we're playing together on our anniversary. It is nice to have the opportunity to perform together,' she said.

The event takes place at 7.30pm at Trinity Church, Hindes Road, Harrow. Tickets are available from the box office on 020 8428 5924 costing £8 for adults, £6 for concs and children.
