Recycling will be giant leap for mankind

Friday, February 10, 2012

LETTERSFrom Derek Moore, Pondwell, Ryde:

HAVING read the article and letters of complaint regarding the IW Council’s new recycling initiative, I do find it hard to understand some people’s impatience.

As with all major changes, it would be rather naive to think it will not have its teething problems but time, I’m sure, will sort these out and for the best.

I think it is a marvellous system and, if you study your rota and information card properly, it’s amazing what items can be put straight into the wheelie bin, saving the need for items being put into the now serious shortage of landfill sites.

If we claim to be an eco Island, this surely is one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.
