Relief road would solve problems

Friday, January 27, 2012

LETTERSFrom Miss J. Wills, Cowes:

WITH regard to the perpetual roadworks and delays on the Cowes to Newport road.

Wouldn’t it be a good idea for the IW Council to build a new relief road beside the cycle track. In the unlikely event of no roadworks, it would still take a lot of traffic from the main road.

Cowes seems to be the only travellers’ terminal with only one access road. Ryde has two, Staplers or Fairlee. Yarmouth has two, Calbourne or Forest Road, even Sandown and Shanklin have two, Arreton or Godshill. Why didn’t someone think of it before?
