LETTERS From Cath Scallon, Ryde:
IN his tirade about Cowes Enterprise College and its governors, (CP, letters 08-02-13) Alan Bennett seems to have forgotten an essential issue.
Despite their onerous responsibilities and accountabilities, these people are unpaid.
In demanding their resignation, he should be careful, because he might just get what he wishes for.
Getting rid of governors is the easy part; appointing new ones is more of a challenge, particularly ones who are willing to give up their valuable time, only to be held accountable, as in this case, for many issues out of their direct control.
