A frightened woman was forced to hand over her £9,800 diamond ring to robbers in Shenley Road, Borehamwood, on Tuesday morning last week.

Police said the 45-year-old from Borehamwood was walking to her car, parked in a service road behind the town's main shopping street, when the robbers struck.

Pushing her against her car, the men, both white and aged around 16, demanded a purse containing £200 in cash and a £200 Gucci watch as well as the valuable ring.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which took place at 10.35am, to telephone the crime desk on 0181 733 5044 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

The criminals are also described as 5ft 10ins, wearing puffa-style jackets, dark-coloured trousers and trainers.
