So sorry about business

From Susan Gustafson, Brading:

I am writing regarding Hayley Stevenson’s letter (CP, 17-04-14) and your previous article regarding the protest outside the Dark Horse. I was not one of those protesting, although your article, by mentioning my name, implied I was, but I did submit an objection online to the planning office.

While it must be extremely difficult to cope with a business collapsing after all the hard work the staff have undoubtedly put in, it feels unfair to cite lack of support from locals as the main reason. My family and I have enjoyed some lovely dinners there, including Christmas, and also lunches but the last time we had lunch it was not up to the previous standard, so we subsequently went elsewhere.

Brading is a small place, with many people on low incomes, but if the product is right it will attract customers from all over the Island. I’m so sorry Hayley’s hard work has been in vain.
