WHAT a week. The party was absolutely fantastic. I don't think Robin will ever forget the year he was 40. Our friends were brilliant and the help I got was unbelievable, so thanks to all of you who made it such a great occasion for him. I have a file on this so if you want to know abut catering, or music, or karaoke, ask Mimi.

CHILTERN District Council Chairman announced that he is holding his Civic Service at St Leonard's Parish Church on Sunday, April 21. If you want more details, please contact the Council Offices.

The chairman is also holding a series of cricket matches for young people from all over the district. The winners will be presented with the Golden Jubilee Cup, and it is hoped that this will continue every year. So young cricketers look out for the details and make sure that your team is included. It would be wonderful to win the Golden Jubilee Cup.

FANTASTIC response to our offer on the costs of road closures and a list will be published soon to inform you which roads around here will be closed on what days. Although it's been slow there now seems to be a very positive attitude to celebrating the Golden Jubilee.

BUT, and this is a note for any youngsters reading this, we've had a very disappointing take up for our training days. These are designed to help you put your Golden Jubilee event together. So come on and join in with the Jubilee spirit. It will be a year to remember. We realise that exams are going on around the same time but the whole year is available to you for your event and we will support you. Please ring David Gardner on 01494 729000 or myself.

DON'T forget it's Mother's Day this Sunday. As a working mum I know what's it's like to juggle family and commitments. A little thought makes such a difference take that from one who knows.
