LETTERS From Joan Hall, Gurnard:
A REALLY big thank-you to all the street cleaners and Island Waste staff who cleaned up, and emptied bins, after us this Cowes week.
I walked through Cowes High Street at 7am on Saturday, August 18, the morning after the fireworks.
I have heard there were about 55.000 people enjoying a wonderful evening. I know the Green was absolutely packed as I was there.
Thank you to all those wonderful cleaners who, one of the lads told me, started at 2am to make the Green and the street looking absolutely pristine. There was not one item of rubbish from the Green to the Yacht Haven.
A wonderful job, from all the folks who really appreciate what you do.
