Challenge Cup Quarter-Finals U14s

A blistering display of attacking football sent the Lions roaring into the semi-finals of the Challenge Cup.

An under-strength Princes Park side were no match for the Lions, who could have hit double figures.

Lewis Dommett opened the scoring with a strike that looped over the keeper.

Scott King's wing wizardry kept Park's defence pinned back but Wood missed several chances to increase their lead.

Daniel Perceval made it 2-0 before the break when he slotted the ball home.

The onslaught continued after the break and Scott King fired in from a corner for the third goal.

Wood's defence kept the opposition at bay and their keeper was barely troubled.

Rob Barnes scored twice within the space of a couple of minutes to put the result beyond doubt.

Daniel Banks saw his shot cannon off the post before he was rewarded minutes later when he blasted the ball into the top corner to complete a devastating performance. Wood take on Edmonton Rangers this Saturday in the Benevolent Shield.

LIONS: Banks, Robinson, Digweed, Lever, Quinn, Kirsop, Merritt, Byrnes, Dommett, Perceval, King. Subs: Phillips, Cole, Daniels, Boyle.
