ISLANDERS REUNITEDFrom Margaret Jessup, Cowes Heritage Group, 36 Granville Road, Cowes. P031 7JF. email: maggie2lo@tiscali.co.uk

I AM looking for information on the life of Walter Henry Warrior (1873-1950).

He worked for Groves and Gutteridge where he was secretary of the Ship Contractors and Shipwrights Association for 56 years.

He was a county councilor, a JP, chairman of the Cowes District Council and president of Cowes Co-operative Society. He was also a church warden of St Mary’s Church, Cowes. He lived for many years in Milton Road at Cowes. Warrior Avenue was named after him.
