We can spot the difference

From Richard Beasley, Gurnard:

With reference to the report (CP, 08-08-14), concerning the granting of planning approval for a new store to open on the site of the former Readers factory, in Place Road, Cowes.

The mayor of Cowes, Cllr Geoff Banks, apparently thinks it interesting this was approved, while 86 new homes in the same road were refused approval.

That a man who has such a prominent role in the running of the town should seek to draw a comparison between 86 new homes being built on green fields where no housing exists … with an industrial unit built on an already occupied site…staggering? Crass?

It’s surely something to remember next time there’s voting to be done.
