Police are investigating two stabbings on Harrow streets which took place after England were knocked out of the World Cup.

In one of the attacks, a 23-year-old South Harrow man was stabbed in the shoulder after an argument in the Tithe Farm pub, Alexandra Avenue, Rayners Lane.

It is believed a fight started after a thug threw a beer glass during the England and Argentina match on Tuesday night.

The fight continued outside the pub, where the victim suffered non life-threatening stab-wounds to his left shoulder.^ probably inflicted by a Stanley-knife or similar weapon.

Police are appealing for help from witnesses who may have seen the fight or who know the identity of the attacker, who was last seen running off towards Eastcote Lane.

He was a white man aged about 30, with long dark brown hair tied in a pony-tail. He wore a white T-shirt and jeans.

A man was hospitalised with stab wounds following a fight in Headstone Road, Harrow, also on Tuesday night.

By Wednesday morning, two men had been arrested and were being questioned by Harrow detectives in connection with the incident.
