Why no Cowes Week on BBC TV?

From Mrs H. Moyse, Shanklin:

OVER the last few months, the BBC national TV news has given us constant daily coverage of tennis, football, the Commonwealth Games and mention of golf, motor racing, horse racing and cricket.

Apart from our local South Today, there was not a single word, let alone film, of the Cowes Week of yacht racing. Why?

I phoned the BBC complaints line, where I was told my complaint would be noted and passed on to the appropriate department. It would not be possible for me to speak to anyone personally. Again, why?

Is there anyone out there who can take this further? The Lord Lieutenant? The tourist board? Our MP?

How I will miss Keith Newbery. Please pass my condolences to his family and friends.
