THE mighty Magic Octagon last night wowed the crowd and judges at last night’s Live/Wired final, earning themselves a place at this year’s IW Festival.
The band were up against a stellar cast of the Island’s best original talent chosen in on-line polls and live heats.
Shanklin Freak Show kicked off the night, complete with their own stilt walker and glam-goth blood-spitting fans.
Their rousing performance was followed by former IW Festival openers Siniez, who kept the musical bar high ahead of Magic Octagon, who came on stage third.
They were followed by the explosive Kids Will be Skeletons, whose performance sparked a mini-riot on the dance floor.
Rising stars The Kurves completed the line-up with a set that ensured the first ever Live/Wired final was a night to remember.
As well as earning a spot on the Bandstand stage at this year’s festival, Magic Octagon also won a recording session at Live/Wired co-organisers Platform One.
“The standard tonight was incredible,” said judge Thom Gannaway.
